ICD Implantation

Available

Description

ICD Implantation (Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator) is a procedure in which a small electronic device is placed under the skin to continuously monitor the heart rhythm. If the device detects a dangerous or life-threatening abnormal heart rhythm, it can deliver an electrical shock or pacing therapy to help restore a normal heart rhythm.

ICD implantation is commonly recommended for patients at risk of serious ventricular arrhythmias or sudden cardiac arrest. The procedure is performed by a qualified cardiologist or electrophysiology specialist.
